Fishing: Old Headquarters Lake (on site): Perch and Bullhead.
Perch Lake (1/2 mile North): Largemouth Bass and Bluegill.
Two-Hearted River (1 mile South): Brook Trout and Steelhead.
Hiking: North Country Trail (3 miles SW): This North Dakota to New York hiking route includes over 1500 miles of Michigan pathway.
Designated Watchable Wildlife Site: Blind Sucker Dam (10 miles NE) creates a backwater wetland area providing excellent opportunity for viewing a variety of waterfowl.
